"This painting was the result of a little game of ‘what can I do with this?’ I got interested in the idea of seeing how many fishy instruments I could wedge into one drum kit. This combines a number of my favorite themes: music, fish and ornate, complicated costumes. As always, the finished work is only an instrument – instrument, get it? – to get you to interact with the image. So, how many denizens of the deep can you find?"
