Lot 1:
“Femmes et Singes” (Women and Monkeys) an original lithograph by famous artist Henri Matisse of France. Created by Matisse in the last years of his life, this lithograph was published after his death in Verve by Teriade, in 1958. Matisse (1869-1954) was well known as a painter and as the leader of the Fauvist movement. He is often regarded as the most important French painter of the 20th century. There is a slight crease running through the center of the lithograph. This artwork measures in the frame 20.5″ H x 35″ W.
